UK Boosts Ukraine’s Defense with Largest-Ever Aid Package

 


In a significant move to support Ukraine amid the ongoing conflict with Russia, the United Kingdom has announced its largest-ever military aid package to the country. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak revealed that the aid includes a substantial supply of long-range missiles and other critical equipment.

Here are the key details:

  1. Storm Shadow Missiles: The UK will send additional Storm Shadow long-range missiles to Ukraine. These precision-guided cruise missiles have a firing range of over 250 kilometers (155 miles). Alongside these missiles, Britain is also providing more than 1,600 strike and air defense missiles.

  2. Total Aid Amount: The aid package amounts to £500 million ($620 million) in new spending. This brings the total UK military aid to Ukraine for this financial year to an impressive £3 billion.

  3. Strategic Importance: Prime Minister Sunak emphasized the importance of defending Ukraine against Russia’s aggression.
