Woman Faces Multiple Charges in Taylor Swift Eras Tour Ticket Scam, Toronto Police Say

Toronto police have arrested a woman from Burlington, Ontario, for allegedly scamming dozens of Taylor Swift fans out of nearly $70,000 by selling fraudulent concert tickets. The accused, who used the alias "Denise Blackhawk," allegedly sold fake tickets for Swift's Eras Tour on Facebook Marketplace.

Victims sent e-transfers for the tickets, believing they would receive them closer to the concert date. However, on the day of the show, the tickets were never transferred, and when victims requested refunds, they were told the money was gone. The accused faces 32 counts of fraud under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, as well as one count each of fraud over $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Toronto police are working with Halton Regional Police Service on the investigation and believe there may be more victims. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on January 10, 2025.
