U.S. Officials Say Iran’s New Supreme Leader Gravely Wounded Amid Escalating Conflict

Protesters hold posters of Iran's late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his son, Iran's new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, during a protest marking al-Quds Day (Jerusalem Day), after Friday prayers at Fatih Mosque in Istanbul. U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has confirmed that Iran’s newly appointed Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei , was seriously wounded and likely disfigured during the opening phase of U.S. and Israeli military strikes. Arab Nations Stand Firm Against Trump's Relocation Proposal

In a recent development, powerful Arab nations have collectively rejected U.S. President Donald Trump's suggestion to relocate Palestinians from Gaza to neighboring Egypt and Jordan. The proposal, which aimed to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, was met with strong opposition from Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, the Palestinian Authority, and the Arab League.

The joint statement released by these nations emphasized their rejection of any plans to move Palestinians out of their territories in Gaza and the occupied West Bank. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas condemned the proposal, stating that the Palestinian people "will not abandon their land and holy sites". Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi also expressed firm opposition, highlighting the potential risks of expanding the conflict in the region.

Trump's suggestion, which he described as a way to "clean out that whole thing," was seen as an alarming escalation in the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people by human rights groups. The proposal has sparked widespread condemnation and reaffirmed the commitment of Arab nations to support the Palestinian cause and resist any attempts to displace their people.
