Wall Street Futures Climb on Fed Cut Hopes as Bitcoin Extends Steep Decline

US markets staged a rebound Friday morning, with futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average, S&P 500, and Nasdaq all moving higher after a turbulent week. The rally was fueled by growing bets that the Federal Reserve could cut interest rates at its upcoming December meeting, following dovish comments from New York Fed President John Williams. His remarks shifted sentiment sharply, with nearly 70% of traders now expecting a rate cut. Dow futures gained 0.7% , leading the advance. S&P 500 futures rose 0.5% , while Nasdaq futures added 0.4% . The optimism comes after Thursday’s sharp sell-off, underscoring the volatility gripping markets as investors weigh AI-driven risks and Fed policy divisions. Meanwhile, cryptocurrencies continued to struggle. Bitcoin plunged to around $82,000 , marking its worst month since the 2022 crypto collapse. The decline reflects heavy institutional outflows, miner sell-offs, and broader risk-off sentiment across digital assets.

Historic Super Bowl LIX: President Trump and Taylor Swift Attend

 

Super Bowl LIX, held at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on February 9, 2025, was a star-studded event featuring notable attendees such as President Donald Trump and pop icon Taylor Swift. This marks the first time a sitting U.S. president has attended the Super Bowl. 

President Trump, accompanied by his family and several Republican senators, attended the game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. In a pre-game interview, he predicted a victory for the Chiefs, praising quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, who has shown support for Trump on social media. 

Taylor Swift attended the game to support her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. She was seen wearing an oversized white blazer, denim shorts, and white over-the-knee boots, accessorized with a ruby-encrusted "T" pendant necklace co-designed with Lorraine Schwartz. Swift was accompanied by friends Ashley Avignone and rapper Ice Spice. 

Other celebrities in attendance included Jay-Z with his daughters, Meghan Thee Stallion, Kevin Costner, Adam Sandler, and Lionel Messi. 

The game itself was a thrilling contest, with the Chiefs aiming for a third consecutive Super Bowl title. The Eagles, led by quarterback Jalen Hurts, showcased a strong defense and effective offensive plays. The halftime show featured a performance by Kendrick Lamar, adding to the event's entertainment value. 

Super Bowl LIX not only highlighted exceptional athleticism but also underscored the cultural significance of the event, drawing a diverse array of celebrities and public figures.
