Runway Chaos at Toronto Pearson: Delta Flight 4819 Flips, 18 Injured

Delta Connection Flight 4819—a Bombardier CRJ900 operated by Endeavor Air—crashed during landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday amid challenging winter conditions. The jet touched down amid gusty winds and lingering snowfall before losing control and flipping onto its roof. All 80 passengers and crew survived the dramatic incident, although at least 18 people sustained injuries, including one critically injured child and two adults who required air ambulance transport to local hospitals.

Emergency response teams swiftly evacuated everyone from the overturned aircraft, and airport operations were temporarily suspended while investigators from the Transportation Safety Board of Canada and the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board began probing the incident.

Delta Air Lines expressed relief that no lives were lost and extended thanks to first responders on site. The airline’s incident response team has been deployed to assist those affected, as the investigation continues to determine whether the severe weather or other factors contributed to the loss of control during landing.
