Ontario Drivers Enjoy Free Rush Hour Travel on Hwy. 407 This March

Ontario drivers are in for a treat this March as the 407 Express Toll Route (ETR) offers free travel during weekday rush hours. From March 1 to March 31, personal vehicles with Ontario license plates can use the highway toll-free between 7 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., and again from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. This promotion applies to the stretch of the highway between the QEW in Burlington and Brock Road in Pickering.

To take advantage of this offer, drivers must sign up for a "My Account" with the 407 ETR and agree to the Paperless Agreement. Eligible trips will appear as promotional credits on their bills, though transponder lease fees will still apply.

This initiative aims to ease traffic congestion and provide financial relief to commuters. However, heavy vehicles and those without Ontario plates are not eligible for the promotion. While the offer is limited to March, it has sparked discussions about the potential for similar initiatives in the future.

Enjoy the open road and a little extra savings this month!
