Drone Strikes Disrupt Moscow’s Air Traffic Amid Rising Tensions

In a dramatic escalation of hostilities, Ukrainian drone attacks forced the temporary suspension of flight operations at all four international airports around Moscow. Russian authorities reported intercepting over 100 drones targeting multiple regions, including areas deep within Russian territory.

The strikes, which marked the second consecutive night of aerial assaults on Moscow, also led to disruptions at nine additional regional airports. The timing of the attacks is particularly significant, as they come just days before Russia’s planned Victory Day celebrations, commemorating the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II.

Russian officials have warned of heightened security measures in the capital, including potential internet restrictions and bans on fireworks during the festivities. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces continue to leverage advanced drone technology to counter Russia’s military advantage along the front lines.

The latest developments underscore the ongoing volatility of the conflict, with both sides engaging in long-range strikes despite discussions of ceasefire proposals. As global leaders prepare to gather in Moscow for the anniversary events, the situation remains tense, with uncertainty surrounding the effectiveness of diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the war.
