Three Smart Levers to Cut Your 2025 Tax Bill

Taxes are inevitable, but overpaying them isn’t. With new rules and opportunities in 2025, smart planning can help you keep more of your hard-earned money. Here are three effective levers to reduce your tax liability this year: 1. Maximize Retirement Contributions Contributing to retirement accounts such as RRSPs (Canada) or 401(k)/IRAs (U.S.) remains one of the most effective ways to lower taxable income. Contributions qualify for tax relief at your highest marginal rate, meaning every dollar you save reduces your tax bill significantly. Canadian Business Tycoon Frank Stronach Faces Additional Sexual Assault Charges

Frank Stronach, the 91-year-old Canadian billionaire and auto industry magnate, is now facing eight additional criminal charges related to sexual assault. These charges come on top of the shocking allegations he was already facing.

Earlier this month, Stronach was charged with five sex offenses based on claims from three women. The incidents allegedly occurred as recently as last year and date back to 1980. However, investigators from the Peel Regional Police Special Victims Unit have identified additional victims, leading to the new charges. The latest accusations include attempted rape, indecent assault on a female, and six counts of sexual assault.

Through his lawyer, Stronach has denied both the new and previous allegations. Brian Greenspan, Stronach’s legal representative, stated that his client plans to vigorously defend himself against these untested claims dating back to 1977. Greenspan emphasized Stronach’s lifelong commitment to the betterment of the Canadian community and industry, as well as his advocacy for workers, small businesses, family farmers, and the Canadian economy.

Stronach was first arrested on June 7, and the previous charges included rape, indecent assault, forcible confinement, and sexual assault involving three different alleged victims across different time periods. The recent developments have added further complexity to this high-profile case, drawing attention to the legal proceedings surrounding the prominent business figure.

As the investigation continues, Stronach’s legal team will likely mount a robust defense, while the victims seek justice. The case serves as a reminder that no one is above the law, regardless of their status or wealth.
