Ontario residents are facing hazardous travel conditions this Thursday as a mix of ice, snow, and freezing rain disrupts roadways and public transit. Several school boards in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area have canceled bus services—and in some areas, schools have closed—to help ensure safety amid the treacherous conditions .

Meteorologists report that slick roads and a bitter wind chill, with temperatures feeling as low as –11 °C this morning, have created significant delays for commuters . As the day progresses, temperatures are expected to gradually rise to around 2 °C; however, the early winter conditions continue to challenge drivers across the province .

Authorities and weather experts are also keeping a close eye on a larger storm system predicted to hit Ontario this weekend. The incoming storm is expected to bring an additional 5–10 centimetres of snow in localized areas, compounding current disruptions and urging caution among those with travel plans .
