The Canada Strong Fund — Invest Like the Government

Published on MoneySavings.ca | Personal Finance | May 2026 Imagine being able to put your savings into the same fund the federal government is betting $25 billion on. On April 28, 2026, Prime Minister Mark Carney announced Canada's first national sovereign wealth fund — the Canada Strong Fund. Gaza's Humanitarian Crisis: Hospitals on the Brink

The humanitarian situation in Gaza has reached a critical point, described as "hell on earth" by the president of the Red Cross. Hospitals in the region are running dangerously low on essential supplies, with antibiotics and blood bags nearly depleted. Twenty-two out of 36 hospitals are barely functional, according to the World Health Organization.

The crisis has been exacerbated by a blockade on humanitarian aid since March 2, leaving the region without new supplies for over six weeks. The Red Cross warns that its field hospital will run out of resources within two weeks if the situation persists.

The ongoing conflict has made it perilous for both civilians and aid workers to move safely. Tragically, the bodies of 15 emergency workers were recently discovered in a mass grave, highlighting the dangers faced by those trying to provide relief.

The Red Cross has called for an immediate ceasefire to address the dire humanitarian needs and ensure the safety of operations. As the conflict continues, the people of Gaza face immense suffering, with limited access to water, electricity, and food.
