Markets Rebound as Hopes for Iran–U.S. Dialogue Ease Geopolitical Tensions

U.S. stock futures edged higher on Wednesday as signs of potential diplomatic movement in the Iran–U.S. standoff helped calm volatile markets. Futures tied to the S&P 500 rose about 0.3%, the Nasdaq 100 gained 0.5%, and Dow Jones Industrial Average futures added 0.2% after a turbulent prior session.  The shift in sentiment followed reports that Iran has quietly approached the United States to discuss terms for ending the escalating conflict , a development that helped cool fears of further disruption in global energy markets. Harvard Challenges Trump Administration Over Foreign Student Ban

Harvard University has filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration after the Department of Homeland Security revoked its ability to enroll international students. The university argues that the decision is unconstitutional and will have a devastating impact on more than 7,000 visa holders.

The lawsuit, filed in Boston federal court, claims that the administration’s move violates the First Amendment and is an act of retaliation against Harvard for resisting political pressure from the White House. The Department of Homeland Security justified its decision by accusing Harvard of fostering an unsafe campus environment and alleged ties to the Chinese Communist Party.

Harvard President Alan Garber has vowed to fight the ruling, stating that the university will not compromise its core principles despite threats of retaliation. The university is seeking a temporary restraining order to prevent the government from enforcing the enrollment ban.

This legal battle marks the second lawsuit Harvard has filed against the Trump administration in recent months, as tensions between the Ivy League institution and the federal government continue to escalate.
