The Canada Strong Fund — Invest Like the Government

Published on MoneySavings.ca | Personal Finance | May 2026 Imagine being able to put your savings into the same fund the federal government is betting $25 billion on. Kyiv Endures Intense Russian Drone and Missile Barrage Amid Ongoing Conflict

Ukraine’s capital faced a large-scale drone and missile attack late Friday, with explosions and machine gun fire echoing throughout the city. Residents rushed to underground subway stations for shelter as debris from intercepted missiles and drones fell across multiple districts.

The assault came just hours after Russia and Ukraine conducted a major prisoner exchange, swapping hundreds of soldiers and civilians in a rare moment of cooperation amid the ongoing war. Despite the exchange, fighting continues along the front lines, with neither side showing signs of relenting.

Kyiv’s military administration reported that six people required medical attention following the attack, and fires broke out in the Solomianskyi district. Prior to the strikes, Mayor Vitalii Klitschko had warned residents of more than 20 Russian drones heading toward the city.

As Ukraine braces for further escalations, the attack underscores the persistent volatility of the conflict, with both nations locked in a struggle that has claimed thousands of lives and disrupted millions more.
