Renewed Ceasefire Talks Amid Escalating Violence in Gaza

In a renewed effort to halt the ongoing conflict, Israel and Hamas resumed ceasefire negotiations in Qatar on Saturday. The talks come as Israeli forces intensified their military campaign in Gaza, resulting in hundreds of casualties over the past 72 hours.

Palestinian health authorities reported that at least 146 people were killed in the latest wave of airstrikes, with many more wounded or trapped under rubble. The Israeli military has launched "Operation Gideon's Chariots," aiming to seize more ground in Gaza following a recent visit to the Middle East by U.S. President Donald Trump.

Hamas representatives in Doha emphasized the need for an immediate end to hostilities, the release of prisoners, and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza. Meanwhile, Israeli officials confirmed that negotiations regarding hostages held by Hamas had resumed, though no preconditions for a ceasefire were agreed upon.

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to worsen, with international concerns mounting over the blockade that has prevented essential supplies from entering the region since March. As the conflict escalates, pressure grows on global leaders to intervene and facilitate a lasting resolution.
