Royal Welcome: King Charles and Queen Camilla Begin Historic Visit to Canada

King Charles and Queen Camilla are set to arrive in Ottawa today, marking their first visit to Canada since the King's coronation two years ago. The royal couple will begin their tour with a public engagement at Lansdowne Park, where they will meet with community members and local artisans.

Following their arrival, the King and Queen will travel to Rideau Hall to meet with Prime Minister Mark Carney and Governor General Mary Simon. In a historic moment, King Charles has been invited to deliver the speech from the throne on Tuesday, a tradition last carried out by Queen Elizabeth II in 1977.

The visit is expected to highlight Canada's ties to the monarchy and reaffirm the nation's identity on the global stage. Crowds are anticipated to gather at key locations throughout Ottawa to catch a glimpse of the royal couple during their engagements.
