Deadly Car Bomb Targets Pakistani Military Convoy Near Afghan Border

At least 13 Pakistani soldiers were killed and nearly 10 others critically wounded on Saturday when a car packed with explosives rammed into a military convoy in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan, near the Afghan border.

According to local officials and intelligence sources, the blast was powerful enough to shake nearby homes and cause structural damage. Witnesses described a massive explosion followed by plumes of smoke rising into the sky. The wounded soldiers were airlifted to a military hospital for urgent treatment.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. The region has long been a hotspot for militant activity, with several Islamist groups operating across the porous border. Pakistani authorities have accused militants of using Afghan territory to launch cross-border attacks, a claim Kabul denies.

The Pakistani military has yet to issue an official statement. The attack underscores the persistent security challenges in the tribal belt, despite multiple military operations aimed at dismantling militant networks.
