In a surprising diplomatic development, U.S. President Donald Trump announced he will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin on August 15 in Alaska to negotiate a potential end to the war in Ukraine. The summit marks the first U.S.-Russia meeting of its kind since 2021 and is being hailed by some as a pivotal moment in global efforts to resolve the three-and-a-half-year conflict.
