Economists expect Canada added around 10,000 jobs in June, with the unemployment rate holding steady at 6.6%. That would follow a much stronger May, when the economy added 88,000 jobs and the unemployment rate actually fell by 0.3 percentage points. In other words, June's report is expected to show a cooling-off after May's surprise strength — not a reversal, but a return to a more modest pace of hiring. Deadly Strike on Gaza’s Nasser Hospital Claims Lives of Journalists and Civilians

An Israeli airstrike on the fourth floor of Nasser Hospital, the largest medical facility in southern Gaza, has killed at least 15 people, including four journalists and a civil defense worker, according to Gaza’s health ministry and civil defense officials.

Witnesses and officials described the attack as a “double-tap” strike — one missile hitting first, followed moments later by another as rescue teams arrived. Among the journalists killed were Reuters cameraman Hussam al-Masri, Al Jazeera’s Mohammed Salameh, and freelancers Maryam Abu Daqa and Moaz Abu Taha. Several others, including Reuters photographer Hatem Khaled, were wounded.

The hospital, already strained by severe shortages of staff and supplies after 22 months of war, has endured repeated bombardments. Israel’s military has not commented on the latest strike, but has previously claimed that militants operate from within medical facilities — allegations that have drawn international scrutiny.

The incident adds to what press freedom groups call one of the deadliest conflicts for journalists in recent history, with nearly 200 media workers killed in Gaza since the war began.
