In a bold show of solidarity, Air Canada flight attendants staged coordinated demonstrations at four major airports across Canada—Toronto Pearson, Montreal Trudeau, Vancouver International, and Calgary International—on Monday. The action, organized by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), was dubbed a “National Day of Action” and aimed to spotlight grievances over low wages and unpaid work hours.

Hundreds of uniformed attendants stood silently outside departure gates, holding signs like “Unpaid work won’t fly” and “unfAir Canada.” CUPE representatives emphasized that flight attendants often perform mandatory duties such as boarding and safety checks without compensation, with some relying on food banks and shared housing to make ends meet.
