Israel is reviewing Hamas’ formal reply to a U.S.-backed ceasefire proposal that could pause the Gaza war for 60 days and see the release of half the remaining Israeli hostages. The plan, shaped by Egyptian and Qatari mediation, calls for the exchange of 10 living and 18 deceased hostages for 200 Palestinian prisoners, alongside a partial Israeli troop withdrawal and increased humanitarian aid into the enclave.
