In a dramatic show of force, Metropolitan Police arrested 474 individuals during a mass protest in Parliament Square against the UK government's recent ban on the activist group Palestine Action. The demonstration, organized by Defend Our Juries, saw hundreds of participants unveil placards reading “I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action”, directly challenging the July proscription of the group under the Terrorism Act 2000, which criminalizes support and membership with penalties of up to 14 years in prison.
