June Jobs Report: What It Means for the Bank of Canada's July 15 Decision

Friday, July 10, 2026 Statistics Canada releases its June Labour Force Survey today, and the timing couldn't matter more. This is the last major economic data point before the Bank of Canada's next interest rate decision on July 15, 2026 — and whichever way the jobs numbers break, they'll shape what happens to borrowing costs for the rest of the summer. What Economists Are Expecting Consensus forecasts point to a modest but positive jobs report. Economists expect Canada added around 10,000 jobs in June, with the unemployment rate holding steady at 6.6%. That would follow a much stronger May, when the economy added 88,000 jobs and the unemployment rate actually fell by 0.3 percentage points. OLG Marks 50 Years with $1 Million ‘Welcome to Wintario’ Giveaway

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) is celebrating its 50th anniversary in style — by giving Ontarians a free shot at becoming a millionaire.

The Welcome to Wintario contest, running from August 18 to October 19, 2025, offers a $1 million grand prize and 50 secondary prizes of $1,000. Entry is simple: residents aged 18 and older can sign up or log in to their Winner’s Edge account on the official Wintario Contest site, accept the rules, and click “Enter Contest.” Only one entry per person is allowed for the entire contest period.

OLG President and CEO Duncan Hannay calls it “a celebration of the players who have made the last 50 years possible”. Since 1975, OLG has awarded more than $59 billion in prizes and reinvested approximately $62 billion into Ontario communities, supporting healthcare, amateur sports, charities, and more.

Winners will be chosen by random draw after October 23, 2025, and contacted through their Winner’s Edge account details. With no purchase necessary, it’s a milestone celebration that could turn one lucky Ontarian into the province’s newest millionaire.
