Kyiv Reels from One of War’s Largest Air Assaults as 15 Killed in Overnight Barrage

An apartment building in Kyiv that was hit by a Russian missile. In the early hours of Thursday, Russia unleashed one of its most intense aerial assaults on Ukraine’s capital since the start of the full-scale invasion, killing at least 15 people — including four children — and injuring 48. The attack, which struck both central and residential districts of Kyiv, involved 598 drones and decoys alongside 31 missiles launched nationwide. Ukrainian air defenses intercepted the majority, but nearly 100 buildings were damaged, including a shopping mall, homes, and the European Union’s diplomatic mission. Tragedy Strikes Minneapolis Catholic School: Three Dead, 20 Injured in Mass Shooting

A devastating act of violence unfolded Wednesday morning at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, leaving three people dead — including two children — and 20 others injured. The attack occurred during a school-wide Mass in the first week of the academic year, shattering what should have been a time of new beginnings.

Authorities say the perpetrator, a man in his early 20s dressed in black and armed with multiple firearms, opened fire from outside the church, shooting through windows into the congregation. Witnesses reported between 50 and 100 rounds fired before the gunman took his own life in the school’s parking lot.

Among the injured are at least 14 children, several of whom remain in critical condition. Law enforcement, including the FBI and ATF, responded swiftly, and officials have confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the community.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey expressed deep sorrow, calling the attack an “unspeakable act of violence” against innocent children. The motive remains under investigation.

The tragedy marks the second mass shooting in Minneapolis within 48 hours, intensifying calls for action to address gun violence in the city.
