Zelenskyy Draws a Red Line: No Peace Without Ukraine

🇺🇦 Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has firmly rejected any proposal that would see Ukraine formally cede territory to Russia, emphasizing that Kyiv must be directly involved in all negotiations aimed at ending the war.

In a statement posted to Telegram, Zelenskyy warned that any peace deal excluding Ukraine would result in “dead solutions” that fail to bring lasting stability. His comments come ahead of a planned summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, which has sparked concern in Kyiv over the possibility of being sidelined.

Zelenskyy reiterated that Ukraine’s territorial integrity is enshrined in its constitution and is non-negotiable. “Ukrainians will not give their land to the occupier,” he declared, adding that any decisions made without Ukraine’s participation are inherently decisions against peace.

The summit, seen by some as a potential breakthrough in the three-year conflict, has raised eyebrows due to Trump’s willingness to meet Putin without first engaging Zelenskyy. Analysts suggest that Russia may offer to relinquish control of certain territories outside the four regions it claims to have annexed, but Kyiv remains adamant that no deal can be struck without its voice at the table.

Zelenskyy’s stance underscores the deep divisions that remain and the challenges ahead for any diplomatic resolution.
