At least 40 Palestinians were killed on Friday in a series of intensified Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, according to local health authorities, with the majority of casualties reported in Gaza City. The attacks come as the United Nations formally endorsed a resolution backing a two-state solution, urging both Israel and the Palestinians to resume negotiations toward ending the decades-long conflict.

Witnesses described relentless bombardments in Gaza City, where many residents have refused evacuation orders due to a lack of safe refuge.
