RCMP Arrest Self-Proclaimed ‘Queen of Canada’ in Early Morning Saskatchewan Raid

Saskatchewan RCMP have arrested Romana Didulo, the self-proclaimed “Queen of Canada” and prominent QAnon figure (see note 1 below) , during a large-scale police operation at a decommissioned school her group had occupied since 2023.

The early morning raid on September 3 saw 17 individuals taken into custody, including Didulo, after officers executed a search warrant prompted by an August 25 report of a firearm on the property. Police later confirmed they had seized four replica handguns from the building and nearby vehicles.

Didulo, who has promoted fringe conspiracy theories and declared herself head of a so-called “Kingdom of Canada,” had been living at the site with followers for nearly two years. The compound, located in the small village of Richmound near the Saskatchewan–Alberta border, has been a source of tension with local residents, with reports of harassment and intimidation toward community members.

RCMP say no charges have yet been laid, and the investigation is ongoing. Officers from multiple specialized units were involved in the operation, citing public safety concerns given the reported presence of firearms.

Note 1: QAnon is a far‑right conspiracy theory and loosely organized political movement that began in the United States in 2017 on the online forum 4chan.

At its core, QAnon is based on fabricated claims posted by an anonymous figure (or group) known as “Q,” who claimed to have high‑level U.S. government clearance and insider knowledge. Followers believe — without credible evidence — that a secret cabal of Satan‑worshipping, cannibalistic pedophiles controls world governments, media, and major institutions, and that former U.S. President Donald Trump was secretly working to dismantle this group.

Key Points about QAnon

  • Origins: Emerged in October 2017, building on an earlier conspiracy called Pizzagate.
  • Spread: Grew rapidly through social media platforms, YouTube videos, and influencer accounts, eventually becoming a global phenomenon.
  • Beliefs: Incorporates and merges multiple conspiracy theories into one overarching narrative.
  • Impact: The FBI has labeled QAnon a potential domestic terrorism threat due to its links to violent incidents.
  • Platform Response: Major platforms like Twitter and Facebook have taken steps to limit its spread.
