Tanks Advance in Gaza as Trump Pushes for Peace Deal at UN

Israeli forces pressed further into Gaza City on Wednesday, intensifying their campaign against Hamas strongholds while urging civilians to evacuate south. Witnesses reported tanks entering densely populated neighborhoods, with strikes hitting shelters and homes, leaving dozens dead and many more displaced. Hospitals, including Al-Quds and Al-Shifa, were caught in the crossfire, raising fears of a worsening humanitarian crisis.

At the same time, U.S. President Donald Trump sought to position himself as a broker of peace. On the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Trump’s team presented a 21-point peace plan to regional leaders, expressing confidence that a breakthrough could be announced soon. However, skepticism remains high as the fighting shows no sign of slowing.

With hundreds of thousands already displaced and food shortages mounting, the situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate. International pressure is building on both Israel and Hamas to halt the violence, but for now, the battlefield and the negotiating table remain worlds apart.
