The incident has intensified fears of broader conflict across the Gulf, with Iran warning that parts of the UAE could be considered legitimate targets.  A significant fire erupted at a major oil hub in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates, after debris from intercepted drones fell onto the facility, disrupting operations and sending plumes of smoke across the region. Trump Dismisses Climate Change as “Con Job” in UN Address

US President Donald Trump addresses the 80th United Nations General Assembly at UN headquarters in New York City.

In a fiery speech at the United Nations General Assembly, President Donald Trump labeled climate change “the greatest con job ever perpetrated on the world,” doubling down on his long-standing skepticism of global environmental initiatives.

Trump criticized countries that have invested heavily in renewable energy, warning that such policies would damage their economies. He also mocked the concept of a carbon footprint, calling it a “hoax” and urging nations to abandon what he described as a “green scam”.

His remarks drew groans from parts of the audience, as he insisted that predictions made by the UN and other organizations about global warming were “wrong” and crafted by “stupid people”.

Scientists, however, overwhelmingly agree that climate change is real, largely driven by human activity, and already causing severe impacts such as rising global temperatures, stronger storms, and melting ice caps. UN Secretary-General António Guterres has repeatedly warned that delaying action could lead to catastrophic consequences for both people and the planet.

Trump’s comments came just a day before the UN’s climate summit, where world leaders are expected to present new action plans aimed at accelerating the transition to clean energy.
