Ayodhya Illuminates the World: 26 Lakh Diyas Set New Guinness Records at Deepotsav 2025

Unbelievable! 26 Lakh Diyas Light Up Ayodhya On Diwali 2025, Two Guinness World Records Set In Divine Spectacle

The holy city of Ayodhya glowed brighter than ever this Diwali as it etched its name into history with a record-breaking spectacle. During the grand Deepotsav 2025 celebrations, more than 26.17 lakh oil lamps (diyas) were lit simultaneously along the banks of the sacred Saryu River, creating a breathtaking sea of light visible for miles.

The event, officially certified by the Guinness World Records, marked not just one but two global milestones. Alongside the largest display of oil lamps, a record 2,128 devotees performed aarti together, adding to the spiritual grandeur of the evening. Drones were used to verify the count of diyas, ensuring the achievement was meticulously documented.

The celebrations included a dazzling light-and-sound show, fireworks, and symbolic rituals reenacting the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath received the Guinness certificates, calling the event a symbol of India’s enduring spiritual heritage and cultural pride.

With millions of lamps shimmering in unison, Ayodhya once again reaffirmed its place as a beacon of devotion, tradition, and unity during the Festival of Lights.
