Ceasefire Restored as Israel Resumes Aid to Gaza After Deadly Strikes

The Israeli military announced on Sunday that a ceasefire in Gaza has resumed following a wave of airstrikes that killed at least 26 people. The strikes came after two Israeli soldiers were killed in an attack that Israel blamed on Hamas, prompting what it described as a “forceful” response.

According to local health officials, the airstrikes hit multiple sites across Gaza, including areas sheltering displaced families, intensifying the humanitarian crisis. Israel said its targets included Hamas command centers, tunnels, and weapons depots.

Despite the escalation, Israel confirmed that aid deliveries into Gaza would restart on Monday, following pressure from the United States to uphold the U.S.-brokered truce. President Donald Trump stated that the ceasefire remains in place, while suggesting that Hamas leadership may not have been directly involved in the violations.

The renewed violence marks the most serious test of the fragile truce agreed earlier this month, raising concerns over whether the ceasefire can hold amid ongoing tensions.
