Tuesday, June 16, 2026  |  MoneySavings.ca 🇨🇦 TSX — Another Record on the Books The S&P/TSX Composite closed at a fresh all-time high on Monday, June 15, topping 35,398 intraday before finishing near the upper end of its range. The index is now up more than 11% year-to-date , the second-best performance among major global indexes tracked through mid-June — behind only Japan's Nikkei (+31%). From Prince to Private Citizen: King Charles Ends Andrew’s Royal Life

Prince Andrew leaves Westminster Abbey after the coronation ceremony of King Charles and Queen Camilla in London in 2023.

In a dramatic and unprecedented move, King Charles III has stripped his younger brother, Prince Andrew, of all remaining royal titles and honours, while also evicting him from his longtime residence at Royal Lodge near Windsor Castle. Buckingham Palace confirmed that Andrew will no longer be styled as “Prince” and will instead be known simply as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.

The decision comes after mounting pressure over Andrew’s ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, which have long cast a shadow over the monarchy. While Andrew had already stepped back from public duties and lost his military affiliations in 2022, this latest move represents the most severe censure yet.

Andrew, 65, had lived at Royal Lodge for more than two decades under a favorable lease arrangement, paying only a nominal rent. Reports suggest he initially resisted leaving but has now agreed to relocate. Instead of moving into Frogmore Cottage, once occupied by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Andrew will be transferred to private accommodation at Sandringham, the royal family’s Norfolk estate.

Public reaction has been mixed: some view the move as a necessary step to protect the monarchy’s reputation, while others see it as a deeply personal family rupture. For Andrew, once celebrated as a war hero and senior royal, the fall from grace is now complete.
