Mass Displacement in Lebanon After Intensified Israeli Evacuation Warnings

Hamas Signals Partial Acceptance of Trump’s Gaza Plan, Calls for Further Talks

Hamas announced on Friday that it accepts certain elements of U.S. President Donald Trump’s 20-point proposal to end the Gaza war, while insisting that other provisions require negotiation.

In its official statement, the group said it was prepared to release all Israeli hostages — both living and deceased — under the exchange formula outlined in Trump’s plan. Hamas also expressed willingness to transfer administrative control of Gaza to a Palestinian technocratic body backed by Arab and Islamic states.

However, the group stopped short of agreeing to one of the plan’s most contentious demands: disarmament. Hamas emphasized that while it welcomed international and regional efforts to end the conflict, it sought mediated negotiations to clarify and adjust several terms.

Trump’s proposal, backed by Israel and several Arab and European powers, calls for an immediate ceasefire, a staged Israeli withdrawal, the release of prisoners on both sides, and the establishment of a transitional governing authority. The White House has not yet commented on Hamas’ response.

With Trump setting a Sunday deadline for acceptance, the coming days will determine whether the plan can serve as a breakthrough or whether the conflict will deepen amid unresolved disputes.
