Nerve Block Therapy Offers Hope for Migraine Sufferers

Calgary neurologist Dr. Serena Orr injecting a patient to help treat migraines.  Researchers in Calgary are spotlighting a promising treatment for people living with severe migraines: occipital nerve blocks . This approach involves injecting a small amount of anesthetic near the occipital nerves at the back of the head, which can interrupt pain signals and provide rapid relief. Neurologist Dr. Serena Orr of the University of Calgary has been at the forefront of this research, recommending updates to the American Headache Society’s guidelines for emergency departments. Trump Heads to Walter Reed for Unusual ‘Semiannual’ Physical

Trump will undergo a 'semiannual physical' by doctors.

President Donald Trump is set to undergo what he has described as a “semiannual physical” at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Friday, just six months after his last exam in April. The visit, announced by the White House earlier this week, coincides with a scheduled meeting with U.S. troops at the Bethesda, Maryland facility.

While White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt initially referred to the visit as a “routine yearly checkup,” Trump clarified that he prefers to have his health evaluated twice a year. “I like to check, always early, always be early,” he told reporters from the Oval Office, adding that he feels “in great shape” both physically and mentally.

At 79, Trump is among the oldest presidents in U.S. history. His April physical found him “fully fit” to serve, though over the summer the White House disclosed that he had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a common but manageable condition in older adults that can cause swelling in the legs.

The president has frequently highlighted his medical evaluations as proof of his vigor, often pointing to a cognitive test he says he “aced.” Following Friday’s checkup, Trump is expected to return to the White House before departing for a planned trip to the Middle East over the weekend.
