Gulf War Flare-Up: What the Latest U.S.–Iran Strikes Mean for Your Wallet

The three-month-old war between the U.S.–Israel coalition and Iran escalated again this morning. Here's a plain-English breakdown of what happened — and what it means for your gas tank and grocery bill. What Happened on June 6? Ukraine Launches Drone Barrage on Moscow Amid Escalating Strikes

There were no reports of major damage in Moscow

Russian officials reported that air defenses intercepted dozens of Ukrainian drones targeting Moscow overnight, in one of the largest such attacks in recent months. According to Russia’s defense ministry, 34 drones were shot down en route to the capital, while nearly 160 more were intercepted across other regions.

The strikes prompted temporary closures at two of Moscow’s major airports, though authorities said there was no significant damage in the city itself. At least one person was killed and several others injured in surrounding areas.

The incident underscores the intensifying aerial campaign on both sides. While Russia continues to pound Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, Kyiv has increasingly targeted oil refineries and industrial facilities inside Russia, aiming to disrupt its war economy.

Nearly four years into the conflict, the drone war has become a defining feature of the battlefield, extending the fight deep into each country’s territory.
