Deadly Russian Barrage Strikes Kyiv, Four Killed and Dozens Wounded

Russia launched a massive overnight assault on Kyiv, unleashing hundreds of drones and missiles that tore through residential neighborhoods and critical infrastructure. Ukrainian officials confirmed that at least four people were killed and 27 others injured, including children and a pregnant woman.

The attack, which began in the early hours of Friday, November 14, 2025, sent explosions echoing across the capital. Emergency crews rushed to extinguish fires and rescue trapped civilians as debris scattered across multiple districts. According to Kyiv’s military administration, 430 drones and 18 missiles were used in the strike, making it one of the largest aerial offensives in recent months.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the assault, noting that the Azerbaijani Embassy in Kyiv was among the damaged buildings, underscoring the indiscriminate nature of the bombardment. He emphasized that the attack was deliberately aimed at maximizing civilian harm and destabilizing the city’s infrastructure.

Residents described harrowing escapes from collapsing buildings and fire-filled streets. Many sought refuge in underground shelters as air raid sirens blared throughout the night. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko warned of potential power and water outages following the strikes, urging citizens to remain vigilant.

This latest escalation highlights Russia’s ongoing aerial campaign nearly four years into its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The strikes not only devastated Kyiv but also targeted other regions, including Sumy, Odesa, and Kharkiv.

International observers condemned the attack, calling it another example of Russia’s disregard for civilian life. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces vowed continued resistance, with Zelenskyy reaffirming that Ukraine would respond to defend its people and territory.
