Lawyers Demand Justice After Quebec Teen’s Death

Lawyers representing the family of Nooran Rezayi , a 15-year-old boy fatally shot by police in Longueuil, Quebec, are calling for accountability after allegations of interference in the investigation. Rezayi was killed on September 21, 2025 , in a suburban neighborhood south of Montreal. Quebec’s police watchdog (BEI) has accused local officers of questioning witnesses and attempting to obtain video footage , actions that could compromise the independence of the probe. Lawyers for Rezayi’s family insist such interference cannot go unpunished. The family has filed a $2.2 million lawsuit against the Longueuil police and the city, claiming “unreasonable and disproportionate force” was used against the unarmed teen. His mother, Fahima Rezayi, has urged authorities to ensure accountability, stressing that “this must never happen again.” The case has sparked outrage and renewed calls for reform in Quebec’s policing system. Fog of War: Russian Forces Storm Pokrovsk in ‘Mad Max’-Style Convoy

Russian war bloggers published a video on Nov 11 showing what they said were Russian forces entering Pokrovsk along a road enveloped in fog.

Russian forces have intensified their push into eastern Ukraine, with dramatic footage surfacing that shows troops entering the battered city of Pokrovsk in a convoy resembling scenes from the post-apocalyptic film Mad Max. The video depicts soldiers riding motorbikes and clinging to the roofs of stripped-down cars and vans as they advance through dense fog.

Pokrovsk, often referred to as “the gateway to Donetsk”, has been under threat for more than a year. Moscow’s strategy has shifted from frontal assaults, like those used in the capture of Bakhmut in 2023, to a pincer movement aimed at encircling the city and cutting off Ukrainian supply lines. Ukrainian officials reported that approximately 300 Russian soldiers are now inside Pokrovsk, with reinforcements arriving under cover of poor visibility.

The eerie convoy—vehicles missing doors and windows, soldiers perched precariously on top—has drawn comparisons to cinematic chaos. Social media users quickly dubbed the footage “Mad Max-style,” highlighting the surreal and grim nature of the war’s latest visuals.

Strategically, the fall of Pokrovsk would provide Russia with a platform to advance north toward Kramatorsk and Sloviansk, two of the largest Ukrainian-held cities in the Donetsk region. For Ukraine, holding Pokrovsk is critical to maintaining its defensive line and preventing further Russian breakthroughs.

The haunting imagery underscores the brutal reality of the conflict: improvised machinery, relentless fog, and a battlefield that increasingly resembles dystopian fiction. Yet for the residents of Pokrovsk, this is no movie—it is the stark continuation of a war that shows no signs of abating.
