Holiday Turbulence: Flight Delays Hit Major Canadian Airports on Boxing Day

Passengers wait in a check-in line at Vancouver International Airport after a snowstorm crippled operations during the holidays in 2022.   Travelers across Canada are facing a challenging Boxing Day as major airports report widespread delays and cancellations triggered by winter weather and heavy post‑holiday traffic. With thousands of passengers returning home or heading out for year‑end vacations, the timing couldn’t be more disruptive. Israeli Reservist Dismissed After Running Over Praying Palestinian in West Bank

An armed settler is seen running over a Palestinian who was praying by the roadside in Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank.

An Israeli reservist soldier has been removed from duty after driving his vehicle into a Palestinian man who was praying on the roadside in the occupied West Bank. Video of the incident shows the reservist steering an ATV directly toward the kneeling man near the village of Deir Jarir, north of Ramallah.

According to the Israeli military, the reservist had also fired shots in the area shortly before the collision. Officials described his actions as a serious breach of conduct, noting that his weapon was confiscated and his reserve service immediately terminated.

The event has intensified concerns about rising violence involving settlers and reservists in the West Bank, where tensions have been steadily escalating. Palestinian groups condemned the attack as part of a broader pattern of assaults on civilians, while Israeli authorities said a formal investigation is underway.

The condition of the injured man has not yet been publicly released.
