Markets Rebound as Hopes for Iran–U.S. Dialogue Ease Geopolitical Tensions

U.S. stock futures edged higher on Wednesday as signs of potential diplomatic movement in the Iran–U.S. standoff helped calm volatile markets. Futures tied to the S&P 500 rose about 0.3%, the Nasdaq 100 gained 0.5%, and Dow Jones Industrial Average futures added 0.2% after a turbulent prior session.  The shift in sentiment followed reports that Iran has quietly approached the United States to discuss terms for ending the escalating conflict , a development that helped cool fears of further disruption in global energy markets. Sánchez Warns Trump Against Escalating Middle East Conflict

                                           Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez issued a stark warning to U.S. President Donald Trump, urging him not to “play Russian roulette with the destiny of millions” as tensions rise over the ongoing conflict involving Iran. His remarks came after Trump threatened to cut trade ties with Spain in response to Madrid’s opposition to U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iranian targets.

Sánchez condemned the military actions as reckless and illegal, emphasizing that such decisions risk triggering humanitarian disaster across the region. He reiterated Spain’s refusal to allow U.S. forces to use its southern bases for operations linked to the offensive, a move that further strained relations between the two NATO allies.

In a televised address, Sánchez stressed that history has shown how major global catastrophes often begin with unchecked escalation. His message underscored Spain’s commitment to de-escalation and its refusal to become, in his words, a “vassal” in a conflict it believes endangers millions of lives.  News
