Shake Shack Confirms First Canadian Location at Yonge-Dundas Square

Shake Shack, the famous American fast-food chain, is set to make its Canadian debut in downtown Toronto. The company has officially confirmed that its first Ontario location will be a 5,500-square-foot restaurant situated at Yonge-Dundas Square. The restaurant is expected to open its doors early this summer.

What to Expect

  • Menu: The Canadian Shake Shack menu will largely borrow from what the brand serves in the U.S. Diners can look forward to classic offerings such as burgers, crinkle-cut fries, and handspun milkshakes. While the company has yet to finalize prices, it aims to provide the same experience that patrons have enjoyed elsewhere in the world.

  • Canadian Exclusives: In addition to the familiar favorites, Shake Shack will introduce some Canada-exclusive items. One of these is the Maple Salted Pretzel Shake, which combines the flavors of Canadian maple syrup with Shake Shack’s famous frozen custard.

  • Local Art: The restaurant will feature an art installation by local artist Briony Douglas, showcasing iconic Toronto landmarks like Massey Hall, Sam the Record Man, and Honest Ed’s.

Following the Yonge-Dundas location, Shake Shack has ambitious plans for further expansion in Canada. The goal is to open 35 locations across the country by 2035.
