UN Chief Warns Against Lebanon Becoming Another Gaza

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed profound concern over escalating tensions between Israel and Lebanon’s Hezbollah.

The situation along the Blue Line, the demarcation between Israeli and Lebanese armed forces, has been deteriorating since Israel’s offensive in the Gaza Strip. Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah issued a stern warning to Israel amid reports of an offensive on southern Lebanon. Guterres emphasized that Lebanon must not become another Gaza, as any rash move could trigger a catastrophe beyond imagination. He urged both sides to de-escalate and protect civilians. UN peacekeepers are actively working to prevent miscalculation and promote stability in the region.
