Europe Scorched by Record Heatwave: France and Italy Take Emergency Measures

As a blistering heatwave tightens its grip on Europe, countries are scrambling to protect citizens from soaring temperatures and mounting health risks. France has shuttered over 1,350 schools  and closed the top floor of the Eiffel Tower as temperatures surged past 40°C (104°F)  in several regions. Israeli Airstrikes Intensify in Southern Beirut Suburbs

On Sunday morning, Israeli jets launched a series of intense airstrikes targeting buildings in the southern suburbs of Beirut, an area known to be a stronghold of Hezbollah. The strikes come amid escalating tensions and ongoing conflict in the region.

According to local reports, the airstrikes hit multiple buildings in the Dahiya neighborhood, causing significant damage and resulting in casualties. Lebanese authorities have confirmed at least six fatalities and 15 injuries from the attacks. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had issued evacuation warnings to residents in the targeted areas hours before the strikes.

The escalation follows a series of retaliatory actions between Hezbollah and Israeli forces, with both sides sustaining losses. The Lebanese government is currently reviewing a ceasefire proposal brokered by the United States, but the situation remains volatile.

As the conflict continues to unfold, the international community watches closely, urging both parties to de-escalate and seek a peaceful resolution.
