Tragedy Strikes: Helicopter Crash in Hudson River Claims Six Lives

A devastating helicopter crash occurred in the Hudson River near Manhattan, New York City, on Thursday afternoon, leaving six people dead. The incident involved a Bell 206 helicopter, which reportedly plunged into the water at approximately 3:15 p.m. local time. Videos shared on social media showed the aircraft submerged and upside down in the river.

Emergency responders, including rescue boats and fire department units, rushed to the scene to perform rescue operations. The crash site was located near the Manhattan waterfront, close to a maintenance pier for the Holland Tunnel's ventilation towers. Witnesses described the helicopter's descent as sudden and alarming, with pieces of the rotor falling off before the aircraft hit the water.

Authorities have confirmed that all six individuals aboard the helicopter, including the pilot, tragically lost their lives. Among the victims were a family of five visiting from Spain. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.
