Kim Jong Un Pledges Unwavering Support for Russia Amid Ukraine War

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has reaffirmed his country’s “unconditional support” for Russia’s actions in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, according to state media reports from Pyongyang. The declaration came during a high-profile meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in the coastal city of Wonsan, marking a deepening of strategic ties between the two nations.

During the talks, Kim expressed full backing for “all the measures taken by the Russian leadership” to address what he described as the root causes of the Ukrainian crisis. Lavrov, in turn, conveyed greetings from President Vladimir Putin and praised the growing alliance as an “invincible fighting brotherhood”.

The meeting also highlighted the implementation of a mutual defense treaty signed last year, which obliges both countries to provide military assistance if either is attacked. Intelligence reports from South Korea suggest that North Korea has already deployed thousands of troops and supplied millions of artillery rounds to aid Russia’s war effort.

As global tensions rise, the Pyongyang-Moscow partnership appears to be evolving into one of the most robust military alliances seen since the Cold War.
