Trump Signals Imminent Gaza Hostage Deal Amid ‘Last Warning’ to Hamas

Israeli protestors take part in a rally demanding the immediate release of the hostages

U.S. President Donald Trump has suggested that a breakthrough in negotiations over Gaza could be close, hinting at a deal to secure the release of all hostages held by Hamas. Speaking to reporters after returning to Washington from New York, Trump said his team was “working on a solution that may be very good” and that details would be revealed soon.

The remarks came just hours after Trump issued what he called his “last warning” to Hamas, urging the group to accept terms he says Israel has already agreed to. According to Israeli media, the proposal would see Hamas release all 48 remaining hostages on the first day of a ceasefire in exchange for thousands of Palestinian prisoners, with further talks aimed at ending the war during the truce.

Hamas confirmed it had received ideas from the U.S. through mediators and was reviewing them, reiterating its demand for a complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and a formal end to the conflict before any final agreement.

The push for a deal comes as fighting intensifies in Gaza City, where Israeli forces have escalated air and ground operations. Humanitarian agencies warn that the window to prevent famine in parts of the enclave is rapidly closing, adding urgency to diplomatic efforts.
