Canadian Lawyer Deepak Paradkar Implicated in FBI Witness Murder Plot

A shocking development has emerged in the ongoing investigation into Canadian drug lord and former Olympian Ryan Wedding, as evidence against his lawyer, Deepak Paradkar, reportedly stems from an FBI witness who was murdered before testifying.

Paradkar, a well-known Brampton-based criminal defence attorney, has been arrested in connection with Wedding’s sprawling cocaine smuggling empire. According to U.S. prosecutors, Paradkar allegedly advised Wedding to eliminate a key witness who was prepared to testify against him. The witness was later killed in Colombia, a crime now directly tied to Wedding’s network.

Authorities revealed that Paradkar’s involvement went beyond legal counsel. He is accused of actively assisting in the plot to silence the witness, thereby obstructing justice and protecting Wedding’s billion-dollar drug operation. The FBI and RCMP jointly announced Paradkar’s arrest, noting that he is one of seven Canadians charged in the case.

Wedding, who once represented Canada in snowboarding at the 2002 Winter Olympics, has since become one of the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted fugitives, accused of trafficking massive quantities of cocaine and orchestrating multiple murders. His alleged partnership with Paradkar underscores the depth of corruption and criminal influence surrounding the case.

The indictment filed in U.S. court paints Paradkar as a critical player in Wedding’s criminal enterprise, with prosecutors emphasizing that his legal expertise was weaponized to shield the drug boss from prosecution. Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli stated that Paradkar’s advice to kill the witness was a pivotal moment in the conspiracy.

This case has sent shockwaves through Canada’s legal community, as Paradkar was previously known for defending high-profile clients in Ontario. Now, he faces charges that could place him alongside his former client in one of the most notorious criminal trials in recent memory.
