The meeting, hosted by Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand , comes at a critical moment as rolling blackouts sweep across Ukraine ahead of winter. Foreign ministers from Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the European Union posed for a family photo before beginning discussions. Will Smith’s Extra-Inning Blast Seals Dodgers’ Historic Back-to-Back World Series Triumph

The Los Angeles Dodgers etched their names into baseball history on Saturday night, becoming the first team in 25 years to repeat as World Series champions. In a dramatic Game 7 showdown against the Toronto Blue Jays, the Dodgers rallied late and secured a 5-4 victory in 11 innings, capped by catcher Will Smith’s clutch home run.

The Blue Jays, playing in front of a raucous home crowd at Rogers Centre, held leads of 3-0 and 4-2 before the Dodgers clawed back. Veteran infielder Miguel Rojas tied the game in the ninth inning with a solo shot, keeping Los Angeles alive when they were just two outs from defeat.

The decisive moment came in the top of the 11th. Facing former Cy Young winner Shane Bieber, Smith worked the count before crushing a hanging slider into the bullpen, giving the Dodgers their first lead of the night. The bullpen then held firm, sealing the franchise’s seventh World Series title and their second in as many years.

The victory makes the Dodgers the first repeat champions since the New York Yankees’ dynasty from 1998–2000, and the first National League team to accomplish the feat since the Cincinnati Reds in 1975–76. Manager Dave Roberts praised his team’s resilience, calling the win “one of the most dramatic games in the history of baseball”.

For Toronto, the loss was heartbreaking. After decades without a World Series appearance, the Blue Jays came within inches of glory, even loading the bases in the ninth before the Dodgers escaped the jam. Still, their young core showed promise that could carry them back to October’s biggest stage.

For Los Angeles, however, the night belonged to Smith. Already a workhorse behind the plate, he delivered the swing that will be remembered for decades—a reminder of why baseball’s greatest moments often come when everything is on the line.

In the end, the Dodgers didn’t just win a championship; they cemented a legacy.
