Ontario Auto Insurance Just Changed: What Every Driver Needs to Know Before July 1

If you drive in Ontario, this affects you — starting July 1, 2026 , the biggest shake-up to Ontario's auto insurance system in decades is here. Critics are calling it a coverage cliff. Either way, Ontario drivers need to understand what just changed before their next policy renewal — because the default "basic" plan is now much leaner than what you're used to. From Standard Package to À La Carte Ontario's auto insurance has always included a bundle of Statutory Accident Benefits (SABs) — no-fault coverage that kicks in when you're hurt in a collision, regardless of who caused it. Shockwaves in the Middle East as U.S. and Israel Strike Iranian Leadership

Smoke rises following an explosion, after Israel's Defence Minister Israel Katz said Israel had launched a pre-emptive attack against Iran, in Tehran.

The United States and Israel have launched coordinated military strikes on Iran, marking a dramatic escalation in regional tensions and plunging the Middle East into a new phase of conflict. According to multiple reports, the operation targeted key figures within Iran’s leadership structure, including sites linked to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Explosions were reported across Tehran and other major cities as waves of missiles struck strategic locations. Smoke was seen rising over the capital, and Iranian media confirmed widespread impacts. The strikes were described by U.S. President Donald Trump as part of a “massive and ongoing” campaign intended to eliminate threats posed by the Iranian regime and potentially pave the way for political change within the country.

Iran responded swiftly, launching missiles toward Israel and targeting U.S. military facilities across the region. The exchange has raised fears of a broader regional war, with international leaders calling for restraint. French President Emmanuel Macron urged an immediate ceasefire, warning that the escalation poses grave risks to global security.

As the situation continues to unfold, the world watches closely, aware that the consequences of this confrontation could reshape geopolitical dynamics across the Middle East and beyond.
